I believe he may be the Taylor Smart in the 1880 census in Henryville, Nicholas Co., Kentucky. Taylor Smart is 34 'R.R. laborer'; wife Alice is 25; Mary Lou 6; David T. 2; and Jesse 9 months -- all born Kentucky. Ad Grant, 25, black, is a laborer. {p. 429a}

 He is also found in the 1900 census for Summer, Cunningham, Chariton Co., Missouri, where both his brothers are. Taylor Smart is 55, born Dec 1845 in Kentucky (parents same), married 28 years, farmer; with wife Alice M. 45, born May 1855, with 6 of 8 children living.  The children are Dave T. b. Aug 1877 KY; son Jessie H. b. Aug 1879 KY; William F. b. Oct 1884 in Missouri; Pearl b. Oct 1886 MO; and Harry B. born Aug 1888 MO. {ed 35, sh 3b, p. 104}

 According to the death certificate of David T. Smart (1877-1954), his mother was Alice Berry, and his wife was Anna Tarr.
 According to her death certificate, Mary Alice Berry Smart (1855-1930) was the daughter of David Berry.
