Pioneer's Daughter Called by Death Linden---May 20--Mrs. Martha Ann Beckwith died at the family home here Saturday morning after an illness of two weeks. She resided at Salt Spring Valley for many years and had lived here for more than twenty years. The funeral will be held at the B. C. Wallace undertaking establishment, Stockton, tomorrow afternoon at 10 o'clock. Burial will be made at Milton. Deceased was born at Bachelors Valley, Stanislaus county, April 30, 1863. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Board, a pioneer family who crossed the plains in 1852. She was married to Byron D. Beckwith of Calaveras county in 1887. Of this union seven children were born, five of whom are living. Surviving are her husband Byron D. Beckwith; three sons James H. Beckwith of Stockton, Jesse W. and Jack S. Beckwith of Linden; two daughters, Mrs. Gladys Christy of Woodbridge and Mrs. Doris Beach of Linden, and two brothers, Frank Board of Arcata and James Board of Linden.
