Mark King was baptised on 11th October 1857 at Chichester in Sussex, son of Mary Ann King, formerly Grant, and her husband Daniel King, a railway porter. He appears in both the 1861 and 1871 censuses living in Chichester with his parents and siblings. In 1871 he was working as a printer's boy. He has yet to be researched after 1871.
