Marilyn Jean Quinn was born October 31, 1936 in Steele, Missouri. She was the daughter of Robert Elleoy Frakes and Virginia Still Frakes. She departed this life at the Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti, Missouri on February 13, 2018. She was 81 years old.
She was united in marriage to Bill Quinn on September 4, 1982 in Braggadocio, Missouri. Marilyn worked in the nursing field. She was a nurse and the safety administrator at the Caruthersville Shipyard for many years. She then became the administrator of the River Oaks Nursing Center in Steele. Marilyn enjoyed life. She loved playing cards such as pitch and bridge. She was an avid bowler. She was fond of music. She especially loved listening to her husband and family play and sing, and she even wrote a song of her own. These hobbies were important to her, but nothing was more important than spending time with her family. She inspired them to face life with a positive attitude. She was a very faithful and active member of the Steele Church of Christ.
Marilyn is survived by her husband, Bill Quinn, Steele, MO, three sons, Dale E. Nunnery (Pam), Poplar Bluff, MO, Steven R. Nunnery (Carol), Cape Girardeau, MO, and John A. Nunnery (Pamela), Virginia Beach, VA, Stepdaughter, Michele Manley (Sherman), Caruthersville, MO, a niece/best friend, O'Nita McClure, Steele, MO, seven grandchildren, Laura Nunnery Love (Ryan), Sherman Manley III, Jenifer Palmer (David), Eric Manley, Ben Nunnery, Nathan Nunnery Derek Nunnery, nine great grandchildren, two great-nieces, Rebecca Coleman, Debbie Ledford and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Bethel Frakes, and two brothers, Robert C. Frakes, Glen (Whish) Frakes.
