Witnesses: Juan Bautista LANDRY; Ambroise HEBERT. Recorded in Assumption Church, of Plattenville, Assumption, LA (ASM-2, 113).

On the 1788 census of Lafourche: Margueritte LICAIRE, age 3, daughter of Jean & Marie MARBIEAU, ages 48 & 33, living with them, 3 half-siblings (surnamed DESERT [sic]), and an older sister Magdelainne, 5, on the 1788 census of Lafourche. They lived on the right bank, on 6 arpents, and were fairly comfortable, with 60 quarts of corn, 16 horned cattle, 4 horses and 15 swine. No slaves, but an "engage" lived in the household, named Jean Baptiste LE BLANC, age 20.

!NAME: LICAIRE, LE COEUR, LIQUEUR, LIQUAR. Margarite LEGUEUR on daughter Elizabeth's second marriage record and Margarite (Tersille)'s marriage record. Name spelled LACOUR in An Atlas of Louisiana Surnames of French and Spanish Origin. There it states that the first of that surname was a native of Saint Jean-des-champs in Normandy, who arrived in 1720 as a worker for the St. Catherine concession at Natchez. (See Conrad 1970, 1:115; DeVille...1726 census...LaCour 1980, 177; etc.)

!CHILDREN-MARRIAGE: Present on 29 MAY 1834 when her daughter Marguerite RENTROP was married. Wedding was held "at the residence of Mistress Margarite Liquar [?] widow of Said Frederick Rentrop dcd. and mother of the bride." Auguste Rentrop [who signed his name Augustus RENTROPE] was a witness.

Marguerite LECOEUR married to Frederick RENTROP in her succession record dated 17 Nov 1842 at St. Mary Parish Courthouse, Franklin, LA (Frank.Ct.Hse.: Succ. #488).

!DEATH-PROBATE: Succession #488 [Probate] record of Marguerite LECOEUR; 1842-1843; County Clerk, St. Mary Parish, LA, Courthouse in Franklin, LA 70538-1231; Photocopies of originals in courthouse book, consisting of pp. 144-158 [some versos], in possession of Karen Theriot Reader, Watsonville, CA. Marguerite LECOEUR, widow of Frederick RENTROP [sometimes RANTROP], died "on or about the 2d instant intestate" on petition dated 17 Nov 1842, so died 2 Nov 1842. She left five heirs: two sons, Auguste F. RENTROP & Henry M. RENTROP; three daughters, Marguerite RENTROP, wife of Zephirin THERIOT, Elizabeth RENTROP, widow of Benjamin MALBRAUX, & Celeste RENTROP, wife of Marcelien THERIOT. There was no land in her estate, but four female slaves and two slave children were ordered sold at public auction on 23 Dec 1842 to settle the estate. Marcelien THERIOT posted bond on 22 Dec 1842 and was named administrator. By 1st Mar 1843 Marcelien had died and Auguste RENTROP petitioned to be named administrator of the estate, appointed and sworn in on 5 Apr 1843.
