She was born probably in West Greenwhich, Rhode Island, on April 14, 1752 and died before 1787 at about age 35. Her first marriage was to a Comstock (when she was about age 16) whose first name is unrecorded. Her second marriage was on December 10, 1775 to Warren Matteson when she was age 23.
Lydia's sister, Elizabeth, in her will of Saturday January 14, 1792, bequests to "cosin" Aaron Comstock, son of my sister Lydia Comstock.
William Comstock in his will of Friday January 12, 1787, gives to grandson, Aaron and daughter, Elizabeth, the rest of the homestead farm; to grandsons, Moses, Israel, and William Matteson, sons of deceased daughter Lydia.
Anna Maria Main Comstock (Mrs. Edgar Wooster Comstock) states on Wednesday, September 2, 1936, that Lydia Comstock married a Comstock, no relation, and lived with him only a short time. She returned with her child to her father's home. After her second marriage William, her father, adopted Aaron.
