Family:Unknown and Lydia Comstock (1)

[Lydia Comstock's] first marriage was to a Comstock (when she was about 16) whose name is unrecorded.

[A descendant in 1936 states that] Lydia Comstock married a Comstock, no relation, and lived with him only a short time. She returned with her child to her father's home. After her second marriage, William, her father, adopted Aaron [her son].

Per those family notes, she had two sons by that first marriage, Aaron and Livi [sic, probably Levi] Comstock. The story of the brief and unrecorded marriage to the unknown father of her first two sons who happened to also have the surname Comstock is quaint and rather suspicious. It remains uncertain whether any such marriage occurred at all.
