The Howard Story by Lewis Edward Howard, April 17, 1981, Topeka, KS Hans Heinrich Hirsch of the Palatine area of Germany was deceased by 1740. His widow, Juliana Maronica came to the US with their children by the Ship Lydia, on September 17, 1740. They landed at Port Pennsylvania, first settling in Philadelphia County. The children are listed, not necessarily in order of birth.

1. Simon Harsh born 1722
2. John Henry Harsh born c 1724
3. Catherine Harsh
4. Ludwig Harsh born probably 1735. Married Catherine Taub in 1755.

Ludwig (Lewis) is the ancestor of the line of Martha Ann (Harsh) Cade in the following order.

John Henry Harsh, son of Ledwig, married Catherine Linder
Henry Harsh, son of John Henry, married Elizabeth Williams
Martha Ann Harsh, daughter of Henry, married Josephus Cade

From the records of Lewis Edward Howard of Topeka, KS, sent to Nick DeRose from Lloyd C. Howard.

The Harsh Family arrived at Port Pennsylvainia, Sept. 17, 1740. They settled in Philadelphia Co, PA, County seat of PA. Montgomery Co, PA was taken off of Pennsylvania in 1784. Some or all of the family were in Montgomery Co, PA. Ludwig died there probably. He made his will in Montgomery Co, PA in 1799. They settled near the Cities of Pennsburg and East Greenville, Philadelphia Co, PA. (Now Montgomery Co, PA)

Lewis Harsh's Will was drawn up July 11, 1799 and probated in Montgomery Co, PA. He settled there in this county, so it seems reasonable to assume that he was buried there. The Will mentions 3 sons, and 6 daughters, but no names. The Baptismal record names 4 sons. One could have died or moved a distance and not been claimed. No record of burial has been found.
