Biography

Noble had married Lucy's sister, but she died and Noble married Lucy. She was only 15 years old. Noble and Lucy were residents of Canaan, Litchfield County, Connecticut, at the time of their marriage but they went to New York State, just over the line from Connecticut, to have their marriage performed. Both parents of Lucy were living at the time of her marriage. Lucy was 15 years old when daughter Lucy was born (Dec 1786).

"Noble, Lucy, W3983, MA Line, sol appl 7 Apr 1818 Onondaga Co NY aged 56, in Jun 1820 he had moved to Ashtabula Co OH & in Sep he returned to Onondaga Co NY & in 1821 he returned to Ashtabula Co OH & he d there 22 or 24 Oct 1830, sol had m --?-Gleeson & when she d he m her sis Lucy Gleeson both were of Canaan CT when they were m but were m just across the CT line in state of NY, wid d 19 Mar 1843 at Kingsville in Ashtabula Co OH, the oldest child Lucy Jones stated her mother was aged 15 in Aug before she (the daughter) was b 21 Dec 1786, a son Westrull W. Gunn stated wid was aged 69 yrs 5 mths when she died, children shown were; Lucy b 21 Dec 1786 & m Thomas Jones 12 Oct 1804 & he was b 15 Nov 1776, Charlotte no birth date, Abiatha or Abier who m Amos Mason & in 1845 she was living in Granger Co OH & was dec'd in 1846, Esther & Olive no birth dates, the last four children were all born prior to 1797, in 1820 children mentioned were; King 18, Burril or Burrell 15, Westill [Westrull], Martha Ann 12 & Orin or Orrin aged 6 yrs, in 1846 surviving children were; Lucy Jones of Seneca Falls NY, Novle (sic) K. Gunn, Westrull Willoughby Gunn aged 36, William O. Gunn the youngest child aged 33, in 1850 it was stated Westrull & William O. Gunn were leaving for state of WI, family records of sol's daughter Lucy & her husband Thomas Jones; Charlotte Matilda b 4 Nov 1805, Almira b 14 Feb 1807, Lowry b 20 Apr 1810 & d 3 Nov 1816, Eliza b 26 Jan 1812, Lorenzo b 6 Jun1814 & d 24 Jun 1826, Wilson b 13 May 1816, Walton b 31 Jul 1818 & in 1847 lived in Seneca Falls NY, William b 26 Dec 1820, Lowry b 8 May 1824 & Seth Earl Jones b 30 Jun 1827, wid's brother Elijah Gleeson was aged 67 in 1846 & a res of Ashtabula Co OH & wid's brother Adrial Gleeson was aged 73 in 1850 a res of New Marlborough MA."
