Identity of Lucy Green

Are there 2 Lucy Greens? One married Amos Cutler, 18 Jun 1765. Could there be some confusion?

This is partially based on an article (I no longer have the quote) in a Salisbury area newspaper that Lucy Gleason at the residence of her son (Rufus, I assume) slit her own throat. Another researcher claims by family tradition that her maiden name was GREEN....no proof yet. [Neal Gardner]

The following is from Andrews, Adele. The ancestors and descendants of Elijah Gleason and his first wife, Cynthia Johnson, and his second wife, Betsey Davis. Published by A. Andrews, 1960 (as reported by Matt Lipsey, 23 Dec 2000, in Green Family Genealogy Forum) - #8242 http://genforum.genealogy.com/my/):

"Extensive search for the parentage of Lucy Green, wife of Ariel Gleason, has been made in printed records and in land and probate records of Berkshire Co., Mass. and of Litchfield Co., Conn. If Lucy Green Gleason was the Mrs. Gleason aged 64 who died in Salisbury, Conn. Oct. 23, 1809, having cut her throat in a fit of insanity, as seems most likely, she must have been born ab. 1744 or 45. The marriage of Ariel Gleason and Lucy Green is given in the Tyringham, Mass. Vital Records Apr. 4, 1765. These are the only references to her that have been found. Since published vital records for many of the towns involved in possible leads are not available, it has been difficult to check."

Here is another intriguing possibility:
"Lucy Green might be related to my Samuel Green. Samuel Green of Canaan, CT. married Anna Clark of Sheffield, Massachusetts Feb. 23, 1775 in Litchfield County, CT." (Susan Rhodes, 22 Dec 2000, in Green Family Genealogy Forum)
