Louis Strahl, one of the twin sons of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Strahl Sr., was born on a farm in Milk's Grove township, Iroquois county, Illinois July 4, 1905. His life was lost by accidental drowning at Clifton, Illinois, on Sunday, July 13, 1919, at the age of 14 years and 9 days. Louie received all his schooling in the Clifton public school, where he was in the seventh grade. His parents are German Lutherans, but that denomination has no church in Clifton, and he, with his little brothers and sisters, was a pupil in the COngregational Sunday School. Louie was a good boy and performed faithfully the tasks assigned to him. HE was obedient and submitted to aprental authority cheerfully. He and his little brothers have never gone ito the swimming hole at the south edge of the town before last Sunday. The rule was withdrawn the first time that day on the score of hospitality, when they were indugeld in their plea for permission to accompnay a cousin who was visiting in town. Mr. and Mrs. Strahl had a family of eleven children; Louie is the first to die. His five brothers and five sisters are: William, Leo, Elsie, Leslie(the twin of the deceased), Arthur, Elmer, Edna, Ada, Evelyn, and Rosella. Funeral services were conducted in the Danish Lutheran Church in Clifton, at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, July 15. Rev. F.W. Seehausen, pastor of the German Lutheran Church at Chebanse, officiated. There was a large attendance of sympathetic friends and relatives. Flowers were provided liberally. Interment was made in the Clifton cemetery. The pallbearers were: Geo. Fanselo, Arthur Meier, Maurice Swival, George Christensen, Richard Anderson and Paul Schrader.
