Elmer Strahl, 62, Dies Rites Monday Funeral Services will be at 10 a.m. at Clancy Funeral Home for Elmer Strahl, 62, 525 S. Fraser Ave., who died at 6:45 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 1970 at St. Mary's Hospital. He had been ill for two weeks. Mr. Strahl was a foreman for Mobile Chemical Co. for 25 years and had lived in Kankakee for 40 years. The Rev. Richard Kostelz of St. Martin of Tours Church will officiated at the funeral. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today until the services. Mr. Strahl was born Nov. 7, 1908 in Clifton, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Strahl. He was married July 20, 1937 in St. Rose Parsonage, Kankakee to the former Bernice Finnegan. Surviving are the widow; daughter, Mrs. Robert Blain of Orland Park; two granddaughters; brothers, Leo and Leslie of Kankakee and Arthur of Fairbault, Minnesota; sisters, Mrs. Andrew Sonnickson of Maywood, Mrs. Emil Schultz of Gladwin, Michigan, Mrs. Alan Thomas of Paris and Miss Rosella Strahl of Cicero. He was a foreman for Mobile Chemical Co. Bernice was a graduate of St. Mary's School of Nursing and had been employed as an industrial nurse at General Foods Corp. They were members of St. Martin of Tours Church and are buried in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Kankakee, Illinois. |
