Louis Freeman Jaynes, Don Jaynes' Paternal Grandfather, was born on 16 Mar 1865 in Calhoun, Georgia. He was the son of John and Martha Mulken Jaynes, and lived in Big Smiths, Franklin, Georgia, in 1880. He married Amanda Mary Bearden on 03 Mar 1893 in South Carolina. They had moved to Jefferson,Texas by 1900, and continued to live there, until Louis died on 15 Oct 1948. He and Amanda farmed most of their lives, although his death certificate states he was a Loan Inspector for the Commercial National Bank in Jefferson. He was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Jefferson, TX.
