John Jaynes family is listed as John Jean in the 1860 census and it does look like Jeans on the actual document. However, the wife and children listed fit our John Jaynes and his occupation is listed as "Teacher" which he was, so I feel confident this is our family. This is the first time I've seen James listed as a family member, so perhaps he died young.
