Some Jaynes histories list John's wife as Martha Mulkey, but in researching Martha Mulkey, she was married to someone else, so although her family is well-researched it isn't our family. John is listed in the 1850 US census for Franklin Georgia as married to a Martha. they had a Elizabeth Mulken living with them, so I surmised his wife's maiden name probably was Mulken, not Mulkey.
