See fairly extensive Bruner files and documentations in my collections (also organized on Family Tree Maker computer program disk). Her birth certified certificate amended July 18, 1945 (in my files) and produced for me 31 Oct 1973) shows Lora Myrtle Bruner born Sep 17, 1884 at Van Meter, Dallas Co., Iowa; Father O.H. Bruner, mother Elizabeth Bruner. On back it states that she is the second child in the family (plus some data on her parents). See gramma Lora's death certificate and obituary in my files. Lora was piano teacher (private and played for the Des Moines, IA. Asbury Methodist Church), president DM East High PTA (see her obit.) Homer and she were married in Asbury Meth. Church. Lora's family lived next door to the family of famous baseball Hall of Fame pitcher, Bob Feller. On 22 Apr1986 Gene and Ralph Braught (see that joint interview tape in my files) agreed that at least one stillborn child was born to Homer and Lora that was not previously recorded in my files. There used to be large attendance (200-300 close and distant relatives, including many Braught families) at Bruner annual picnics at East Des Moines Union Park (E.9th St) before WWII. To my knowledge that did not renew after the war. See photos in family folders. Gramma Lora was a fairly quiet (almost aloof) lady. I recall being hugged by her only twice and considered that an exceptional honor from her. Her son, Loran, was actually her namesake, and I was named after him. See DAR national # 181126 (direct line ancestor Adam Bruner was a Rev. War soldier, as was his brother, Peter Bruner). To my knowledge, gramma Lora never did apply for membership in the DAR (she may not have known she was eligible, but also may not have cared). CA Deaths 1940-97 in Ancestry.com shows her mothers maiden name Roland and reconfirms vital dates used here
