Had a stroke following influenza in Feb 1922 that eventually lead to her death in 1925. Her middle name has also been listed as Oscarina. A note says she actually was born in Leland, Ill. which was the nearest town, but across the county line. She attended public school. She was a very active Red Cross worker during World War I. She died at her home in Sisseton, S.D., Feb. 4, 1925, and was buried at Sisseton cemetery. She had been paralysed by a stroke and in bed for several years. The 1880 census shows her living in Victor township, De Kalb County, Illinois; dwelling 60; as Billand, Linnie; white; female; age 5; daughter; single; attended school; born in Illinois; parents both born in Norway. Her confirmation certificate is at Lydia Marvick Swanberg's house (1990) and indicates she was confirmed on 22 Mar 1891 at Leland Evangelical Lutheran church in Leland, Illinois with P. J. Reinertsen as Pastor. She is listed as Linnie Oscarina Bjelland.
