Lewis states that he is Alfreds brother in an affidavit with Alfred's Civil War Pension Papers. He was a minister for the Deciple Church and the one who married Alfred and Mary Croshaw. His birthdate is taken from the affidavit which states he is 67 in 1884. The obit states that he was 86. He was a resident of Wood Co. at that time. His obit is in the Wood Co. Herald on 5-30-1902. It states that he was born in NY, and moved to Erie Co. Ohio as a child. He moved to Wood Co. in 1854. He was married twice. His first wife was Rebecca (cemetery records) The children listed are John A., Sanford L., Theodore S., Mary Ann, George and Ella. The 1860 census list John (23) and Ella (3). Six of the seven children were already dead by the time Lewis died. His 2nd wife was Alemeda Parker. In the 1880 census it has Lewis (62), Alemeda (37), and Ida (20) step daughter. At the time of Lewis' death he had 1 grandchild.
