In an affidavit written by Elanore Croshaw she states that Mrs. Smith is Alfred's sister. She must have lived close because she took care of Alfred at her home and he would not have gone far in his condition. Jane L. is listed as Mary Jane in the 1850 census Erie Co., Ohio Information is taken from her obit and cemetery inscriptions. Her obit states that she was the daughter of Thomas and Sally Miller. She had 6 children and was survived by her husband, 2 sons and a daughter. One son died as an infant.
