In 1750 Lewis was listed on the tax list, along with his brother Jason Jr., under their father Jason, implying that they were all living in the same household, and that Lewis and Jason Jr. were between the ages of 16 and 21 (implying birth dates of 1729-1734). Lewis also appears on the 1752 list under his own name. Several members of the Mobberley family appear on the same lists. The Meadows families are not present in 1749.

    File 2530.

    4 May 1769 - Patent
    30 May 1785 - Patent
1 June 1785 - sale to son Job (See also: Job Meadors (son of Lewis Meadors) Carolina Land Records )

    Lewis's property in North Carolina:
Lewis received 600 acres of land in two grants (1769 and 1785).
Lewis sold 30 acres of his original grant to son Job in 1785.
There are no records of his disposal of the rest of his land.
HOWEVER, his son Levi sold 120 acres of the original grant to his brother Job in 1804; and his son Isham sold the 200 acres of the second grant to his brother Job, also in 1804.
Of Lewis' 600 acres, 150 acres remain unaccounted for.
Inheritance of Lewis' land by his sons was either "understood" but unrecorded, or records were lost or destroyed.
Most likely, Lewis' son Lewis inherited the remaining 150 acres.
