Personal History

Levi Stone, fourth son of Jonathan Stone[3] and Abiel[2] (Bigelow), was baptized 9 February 1723/4, in Framingham, Province of Massachusetts Bay, after the death of his father and on the same day as his three brothers,[2] and was said to be about 16 years of age on 9 April 1739.[3]

In the will of his grandfather, Nathaniel Stone, dated 23 June 1732,[4] the heirs of “my third son Jonathan Ston being deceased” were bequeathed a tract of land in Framingham of about 50 acres “to be distributed by Abiele Ston the relict widow.” On 1 January 1738/9,[3] in Framingham, Levi Stone, aged about 16 years, son of Jonathan Stone late of Framingham, signed a letter declaring that he had chosen Daniel Stone to be his guardian. On 9 April 1739, Daniel Stone of Framingham, miller, signed a bond in the amount of £500 for granting the guardianship.
