Personal History
Reuben Stone, second son of Jonathan Stone[3] and Abiel[2] (Bigelow), was baptized 9 February 1723/4, in Framingham, Province of Massachusetts Bay, after the death of his father and on the same day as his three brothers,[2] and was said to be in his 16th year of age on 8 April 1734.[3]
In the will of his grandfather, Nathaniel Stone, dated 23 June 1732,[4] the heirs of “my third son Jonathan Ston being deceased” were bequeathed a tract of land in Framingham of about 50 acres “to be distributed by Abiele Ston the relict widow.” On 12 March 1734,[3] in Framingham, Reuben Stone, son of Jonathan Stone late of Framingham, along with his brothers Jonathan and Simeon, signed a letter declaring that he had chosen Micah Stone to be his guardian. On 8 April 1734, Micah Stone of Framingham, husbandman, signed bonds in the amount of £200 each for granting the three guardianships.

Will of Reuben Stone of Petersham, dated 5 Mar 1788, presented 4 Jul 1797 (but never proved), mentions wife Mary, son Jesse [executor], daughters Mary Perry and Rachel Hagar, Samuel, Reuben and Azuba Stone [under age] children of eldest son Reuben deceased. [Note: no explanation for birth in 1719 given, apparently not recorded, and it conflicts with Simeon's age at death. Possibly based on his choosing of a guardian 12 Mar 1733/34, which is mentioned in the text, that being assumed to mean he recently turned 14. It would certainly suggest he was born by 1719.]
