Notes on the 1903 class photo

Lambert Schoon was 11 in 1903 when the picture was taken. He was the middle child of a family of at least 9 children. Both of his parents were from Holland.

In 1900, Lambert's family lived on a farm on 134th street near the Calumet River, close to fellow students Albert and Harry Stump and Ruby and Charles Hastings.

By 1910, the family had moved to North Township, Lake County, Indiana, where Lambert's mother and the kids are living on one farm and Lambert's father by himself on another.

Lambert married Ada Jansen in Indiana in 1917, and resided there for much or all of his life. He was a farmer in 1920 and a farm manager in 1930. Lambert and Ada had two sons, one of whom is probably still living. Their son Warren married a daughter (still living in 2007) of Hilbrandt Teninga, who is possibly the same as Lambert's fellow student in 1903, Bernie Teninga.

Lambert's brother Cornelius married Cora Yonker, sister of Anna Yonker who was also a classmate of Lambert's in 1903.

Lambert died in 1960 at the age of 68, and his wife died in 1977.
