V. A. EMPLOYEE K. P. GABET, DIES Kenneth P. Gabet, 40 of 1424 Park Drive, New Haven, was dead on arrival at Parkview Memorial Hospital shortly after midnight. He suffered an apparent heart attack while en route home from work at the V. A. Hospital. Mr. Gabet, a lifelong resident of New Haven, was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War and had been employed by the V.A. for 17 years. He was a member of St John's Catholic Church, New Haven, and Roanoke Post 160, American Legion. Surviving are his wife, Mary; a daughter, Georgia, at home; seven brothers, Robert and Walter, both of Ft. Wayne; Gerald and Joseph, Jr, both of New Haven; Arthur, of Butler, Charles, RR1, New Haven and Norbert, Cromwell; and two sisters, Mrs. Mary Helen Buehl, Ft Wayne, and Mrs. Ruth Ann Gingery, Garrett. Arrangements will be by the E. Harper & son Funeral Home, New Haven, where friends may call after 7 p.m. Thursday. Kenneth P. Gabet – Services for Kenneth P. Gabet, 40, of 1424 North Park Drive, New Haven, will be at 10:15 a.m. Saturday at E. Harper & Son Funeral Home, New Haven, and at 10:30 a.m. in the St. John’s Catholic Church, the Rev. Paul Miller officiating. Mr. Gabet was dead on arrival at Parkview Memorial Hospital shortly after midnight Tuesday. He suffered an apparent heart attack while en route home from work at the Veteran’s Administration Hospital. A lifelong resident of New Haven, he was a Navy veteran of the Korea War and had been employed by the Veteran’s Administration 17 years. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, New Haven and American Legion Post 160, Roanoke. Surviving are his wife, Mary a daughter, Georgia, at home; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Helen Buehl, Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Ruth Ann Gingery, Garrett; and seven brothers, Robert and Walter, both of Fort Wayne, Gerald and Joseph Jr., both of New Haven, Arthur, of Butler, Charles, New Haven, and Norbert, of Cromwell. Calling will be at the funeral home after 7 p.m. today. Rosary services will be at 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the church cemetery, with graveside rites by Roanoke Post 160.
