Gerald R Gabet - 9-22-94 - New Haven-- Gerald R Gabet, 73, of New Haven, died Thursday in Parkview Memorial Hospital, in Ft. Wayne. He was born May 14, 1921 in New Haven to Joseph and Theresa (Vachon) Gabet. He married Hilda Becker and she survives. Mr Gabet, a lifelong New Haven resident, retired in 1986 after 28 years as a cost estimator for Magnavox Corp. in Ft Wayne. He was a Veteran of World War II, and a member of St John the Baptist Catholic Church and quarter century club of Magnavox. Surviving with his wife are four daughters, Ann Keuneke of Forest Ranch, CA; Janet Goodyear of Leo, IN; Sharon Joshua of Meinias Oaks, CA; and Barbara Gabet of Ft Wayne,; four sons, Steve Gabet, of Grabil; Phillip Gabet and Ray Gabet, both of Ft Wayne; and Jerry Gabet, of N. Potomac, MD.; two sisters Mary Helen Buell of Ft Wayne, and Ruth Anne Gingery, of Garrett; five brothers, Arthur Gabet of Butler, Walter Gabet of LaOtto; Joseph Gabet and Charles Gabet, both of New Haven; and Norbert Gabet of Cromwell; 15 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Prayer service will be at 1:30pm Tuesday in St John The Baptist Catholic Church, New Haven with the Rev. Derrick Sneyd officiating. Burial will be in St John Catholic Cemetery, New Haven. Visitation is from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. today in the funeral home where Rosary will be recited at 8:30 p.m. Preferred memorials are Masses to St John the Baptist Catholic Church.
