Facts and Events
Kate Mayo was born in 1866 in Hitchin, daughter of a bricklayer named William Mayo and his wife Sarah Smith. She appears in the 1871 and 1881 censuses living with her parents in Hitchin, working as a nurse maid in the latter. She has yet to be traced after 1881.
