Owned gold mine in Colorado named the Iowa Mine. Filed lien againsta mining company in Colorado for payment for some lumber he and hiscousin Thomas Urie had delivered and had not been paid for. About1900 he moved to Wyoming near Fort Bridger where the small town ofUrie was named after him. He filed a homestead of 161.32 acres inUnita County, Wyoming . He moved by covered wagon to Oakley, Id in1902 then to Twin Falls, Id in 1904. He died at Magic Hot Springs50 miles south of Twin Falls, Idaho of a heart attack shortly after9;00 p. m. on Nov. 17, 1933. He came to Twin Falls, Idaho in 1904where he and his family lived in a tent next to Rock Creek . and hadthe contract to clear sagebrush off of the Twin Falls City townsite.He also helped construct the Salmon Falls Dam. He then lived in theSnake River Canyon 3 miles west of T.F. where he had a small dairy.
