Is said to have been in the service most of the time during the war. He declined to receive a pension, saying that his services were freely given, and he was not in need of aid. He was held in great respect and esteem. Resided in Foster, R.I., until about 1778, when he removed to Gulford, Vt., and again removed to Preston, N.Y., about 1814. The first eight of his children were born in Foster, R.I., the rest in Guilford, Vt., where he resided many years. Late in life he removed to Preston, N.Y. References
