Facts and Events
John Summers, the elder, had five sons, and all of them were involved in court cases involving a large debt, and it appears that the court judgment went against them in 1828 (John Sr. died before the case was concluded). Three of John's five sons died in NJ before 1830, and the remaining two sons, John Jr. and Jacob, migrated to Michigan in the 1830s with their families, along with some of the families of their deceased brothers, and possibly other Sommer relations. |
