Born in the family home (Blanchard Twsp., Hancock Co.,OH). Owner of a grocery store in Leipsic, Putnam Co., OH, then became a world traveling salesman for various companies, mostly in Western U.S. Later he promoted amusement parks, motion picture theaters, and travel agencies. See numerous documents of his travels provided to me Nov. 2000 by Jan Carpenter, 4015 Cheney Dr., Ft. Collins, CO 80526. One described him in 1910 as 43 yrs. old, 5'11", hazel (green-grey) eyes, dark brown moustache and beard with medium complexion, round face, straight nose and high forehead.
