This Catherine probably died (as Catherine Dorsey) at Hancock Co.,OH or Lucas Co.,OH. She died at age 29, only five years after her marriage. I have identified her as Catherine II because her mother's married name was also Catherine Reddin (nee Catherine Braught, wife of Thomas Reddin and daughter of Adam and Rebecca Imboden Braught). Note also that Thomas Reddin, Jr. married Lucinda Jane Braucht, who lived in the same area but was of the family that my files identify as the Jonas line (see extensive files on Jonas line that I expect to eventually document as directly related in middle or late 1700s). The nearness of geography and names of these two families, both living in Blanchard Twsp. of adjact counties (Hancock and Putnam Counties in Ohio), deserve extra caution in identifying their relationships. As of 1999 I still have not found the documentation to connect these two lines to a common parentage, but strongly expect that it will be found eventually. Records further confuse these identities by mixing the name spellings. However, this clearly was not the beginning of separating these lines with -cht and -ght surname spellings because earlier records similarly confused this matter. It seems that until the early 1900s the surname spelling was mostly a matter of influences which had no bearing on actual relationships. At the very least, surname spellings before 1900 should not be taken as evidence of relationships.
