John Jr. was the 3rd born of John Sr. His obit in the Waterloo Courier - June 18, 1948 says - John F. McGovern (it does not say Jr) died on Thursday, June 10 1948, at the home of Allen his son inthe town of Portland where he had lived the last 10 years. Father Dries, Marshall held services at St. Joseph's church in Waterloo and he was buried in the Waterloo Catholic Cemetery. Obit says born 3/8/1855 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He came to WI when he was 4. He married Elizabeth Hilker on 2/14/1882. She died 1935. Survivers - daughter Mrs. Orville Smith, New York City, 2 sisters Mary and Anna, 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildrn.
