John Edward lived in Lawrence & Coffeyville, KS from 1901 to 1916, then returned to the farm close to his birthplace. As time passed and families expanded and matured, many left home and birthplace for education and occupation. The Howard and related lines represent about every vocation available. Fred Lewis Howard is the only living son of the 6 sons of Lewis D. & Kate. He resides on his farm south of Eudora, he was born in 1898.
