Heatherly book, pg 71: "The John Heatherlys, both age 32, were parents of five children when he enrolled August 1861 in Co. C of East TN., Inf. at Tazewell, TN, for three years. He served at Murfresboro, TN and in the winters of 1862 and 1863. . . John Heatherly resigned as a First Lt. on Feb 22, 1863, at Murfreesboro, TN, and was honorable discharged form his duties as an officer. . . The family moved to Fannin County and later Lamarr County, Texas. Lucindey died August 30, 1885 in Dodd City and was buried there."

The ages of the children in the 1880 Fannin Co., TX census just don't tie in with their ages in 1860. In 1880 there is a daughter named Katie who could be Martha Ann but who knows?!
