Capt. Harvey died without issue and indeed it is unknown whether or not he ever married. In his will he asked to be "decently buried by daylight" which may be evidence of his nonconformist beliefs, as C of E clergy often refused to bury nonconforming individuals and such burials were often carried out at night. One of Capt. Harvey's executors was John Gill, who may possibly be the same John Gill who was the long-time pastor of the Baptist church at Horsley Down, Southwark (across the river from Wapping). |
