Lott and Nathan GARD, sons of his (Hiram) brother, John who bought land in 1800 about six miles south of Marietta in Wood Co (Now West) VA lived in Barlow Township, Washington County, OH, believed in the Brown's Mills area. See also page 143 "DUNSMOOR/GAGE" by Nellie A GARD. Here she talks about John GARD the brother of Cornelius Gard who came to Washington County, Ohio in 1802. She describes John as a Revolutionary War soldier from New Jersey who bought land in Wood County, VA (Now WV) about six miles south of the Ohio River and Marietta, Ohio, in 1800. It is unknown if John the brother of Cornelius or John the brother of Hiram is referred to by this account. |
