Jane at age 6 months crept to open fireplace and pulled a kettle of boiling water on herself. First burial in Gard Cemetery, Palmer Township, Washington County, Ohio. Now (1960) there are five(5) generations buried in the Gard Cemetery.

Her death resulting from burns she received when crawling too close to the open fireplace after a peach that had rolled from her hands. This was a great sorrow to Mary and David, and Jane was the first to be buried in the Gard Cemetery in Palmer Township, Washington County, OHIO. (R80).
