Conflicting information in the Rhoton letter states that John T. was born in Taylor County, KY. If this was the correct John T. Gaddie (there were two that I know of during this period), then he was a private in the 37th Kentucky Infantry, Company "F". The 1880 US Census lists his occupation as "Farmer".
