John Comstock (Samuel 3, Samuel 2, William 1) born Providence, R. I., March 26, 1693; died Providence, Jan. 12, 1749 (1750?); married (1st) Esther Jenckes, b. 1684; dau. of Judge William and Patience (Sprague) Jenckes; married (2nd) Sarah Dexter, b. June 27, 1698; d. July 8, 1773.
John Comstock was a blacksmith, residing in Providence. He was buried in North Burial Ground, Providence, as were also his son Samuel and wife, Anne Brown, and two of their sons, Capt. Joseph and Capt. Jesse.
John's father, Samuel, deeded him 83 acres near Woonsocket Hill, R. I., March 23, 1714. John Comstock, March 12, 1734-5, of Providence, deeds Samuel Aldrich 150 A. at "Wansecut."
John was Assistant 1st Wednesday in May 1746.
John gave deed Jan. 16, 1736, to son Samuel of 30 acres; March 24, 1745, to son Joseph, 17 acres; July 7, 1747, to son Jeremiah, for love, 150 acres; Aug. 15, 1749, deed to son John; Aug. 16, 1749, he deeded 170 acres to sons John, Jonathan, James, Nathan, and Ichabod.
