- Abt 1671 - contracted with 6 indentured servants in England to bring them to Carolina which earned him 900 acres (150 for each person)

- his will left all of his property to his wife Affra as sole executrix ; when she died, she left the estate to be divided between his nephew Elias Ball and her nephew John Harleston
