- Vol. 2 - FEE BOOKS OF AUGUSTA COURT - 1775, page 38, John Caldwell, South River; John Reaburn, Stone Meeting House; William Dunlop, Middle River; William Smith, Tyger's Valley; John Graham, Christian's Creek; Thomas Kinkade, Pastures; John Burnsides, Stone Meeting House.
- Page 26.--14th May, 1778. Edward (mark) Warner's will--To wife and daughter, Marthew, all estate. Executors, John Poage and John Burnside. Teste: John Harper, Marthia Burnside, Jacob Campbell. Proved, 19th May, 1778, by John Harper and Campbell, and 21st May, 1778. Executors qualify. (Note: the Martha Burnside listed is most likely John's wife and Edward's daughter).
- Vol. 2 - Marriage Bond in Augusta County - 1790--July 20, Edward Hall and Polly Stuart; surety John Burnsides.
- Vol. 1 - FEBRUARY 18, 1795. - (230) Patience Ritchey, aged 14 in April next, to be bound to John Poage, Jr., who agrees to pay her £6 as freedom dues.--She was formerly bound to John Burnsides, now deceased, and Frances Stuart, the only child of said Burnsides, is willing to deliver her up. (Note: this record shows that John Burnsides that died prior to February 1795 is a different John from the John Burnside that left his will in Bath County in 1808).

Orators are, viz: John Baxter and Margaret, his wife, who was daughter of John Stuart, whose will is recorded in Augusta. The widow Frances married Joseph Moore. Margaret was also entitled under the will of John Burnsides and of Martha Burnsides (father and mother of Frances). The wife of James Craig was sister of John Stuart. Frances and John had a daughter Polly, who married Peachy Harrison. Answer sworn to by Frances Moore in Shenandoah County 14th November, 1805. Margaret had a brother Samuel (born after his father's death).

Seeking more about John Burnside who d. 1793 in Augusta Co. He lived near the Stone Meeting House, now Augusta Stone Church, in Ft. Defiance. He was married to Martha, surname probably Warner, after 1755. They had one Known child, a daughter, Frances. She married (1)John Stuart who d. abt. 1790, and had 3 children (2) Josiah Moore after 1794. Seek specific information about John Burnside's parents and/or brothers/sisters. And did he have a wife before Martha whose name was Sarah?
