in 1803 John Barnes, of John, and wife Elizabeth, deeded to Matthias Pool 187 3/4 acres of Robert's Lot, Stevenson's Deer Park, and Trouting Streams.

On 6 Jan 1804, James Porter sold to John Barnes, of John, parts of Shipley's Discovery, containing 30 acres, 35 acres, and 25 acres. James Porter's wife, then residing in Ross County, Ohio, confirmed the sale on 6 Sep 1804. On 27 July 1817, John Barnes, of Anne Arundel County, sold Andrew Mercer 2 acres of Shipley's Discovery.

John Barnes died by 16 April 1822 when his estate was administered. It was administered again on 15 July 1822.
