JAMES LILBURN RECTOR was born on March 8, 1830 in Roane County, Tennessee.

James was a farmer. James was also a carpenter.

James was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, Dade County, Missouri. He served as a church messenger to the Dade County Baptist Association in 1889.

James moved with his parents in Warren County, Kentucky about 1833.

James and his family moved to Dade - Barton County, Missouri area in 1855.
