  3. MRS. LUCINDA RECTOR

Lucinda Jane Davis: was born in Polk County, Missouri April 17, 1954, and departed this life at the home of her eldest daughter, Mrs. Della Phipps at Freewater, Oregon, November 20, 1925, at the age of 71 years, 7 months and 8 days.

She professed faith in Christ while a girl, united with the Baptist church and lived a loyal member and a consistent Christian life until the Lord said it was enough and called her home.

At the age of 19 she was united in marriage to' Ira Needham who preceded her to the Great Beyond. To this union were born three children, one boy and two girls, two of whom survive - Eli Needham of the home address and Mrs. John Vanhooser of Aldrich.

She remained a widow until March 10, 1887, when she married James Lilburn Rector, who was a widower at that time. To this union were born four children, all of whom survive her. They are Mrs. Della 1ay Phipps of Freewater, Oregon; Andrew McCoy Rector and Oscar Elmer Rector of LaGrand, Oregon; and Mrs. Rhoda Jane Keifner of Newton, Iowa.

Mr. and Mrs. Rector formerly lived near Corry, but a number of years ago moved to Cedarville, where Mr. Rector died, they having resided at each place a sufficient length of time to leave a host of friends to mourn the loss sustained by their final departure, their kind Christian characters were such that they made friends wherever their lot was cast, and we are left grief-stricken on account of their departure. They are gone to join a mighty host of loved ones that had out- stripped them in the race of life.

Mrs. Rector was laid to rest beside Mr. Rector in Cedarville Cemetery on November 25 by loving, tender hands and loving hearts.
