Facts and Events
LIKELY BROTHERS:
Note*: Evidence for Samuel's existence is thin, and his children were involved in the administration of James' estate. It is possible he is a figment of family imagination, and Thomas Morrow (1765-1846) and Jane Morrow Foster (1757-1823) are children of James.
Extensive research posted to Find A Grave, but the highlights demonstrating James' connections are:
- Appears in land records in Orange Co, NC, with William Morrow from the early 1750s through about 1765
- Named in the will of his father-in-law Thomas Berry in Orange County in 1761.
- Bought land in Abbeville, SC in 1767
- James and George had adjacent parcels surveyed in Saint Paul's Parish, Georgia (present-day McDuffie County, Georgia), in 1769.
- James' estate was administered by Thomas Morrow (1765-1846) and his brothers-in-law, James Foster and Fleming Bates. George took the inventory.
- Death record of John Morrow died 1855 in Hickman, Kentucky (also closely associated with cousins in George's and Samuel's lines) names James and Margaret as parents
