Facts and Events
James was baptized at the Parrish of Stoke Damerel, Devon, England on Feb 15,1799. He was an indentured servent to a man named Rogers when he was in his teens. He served seven years at Plymouth Landing. He came to New Brunswick, Canada sometime in the 1820's, where he married and his children were born. He and his family removed to Pembroke, Maine in the 1850's. He and his family appear in the 1860 census listed as "Landrick" and in the 1870 census as "Laudic." By the dates of the birth of his known children (1860 census) it appears Elizabeth and James may have had at least 2 other children born between 1833 and 1838, possibly girls who had married and left the home.
