From the Monona (IA) Leader James Holly Dies in California James D. Holly, 64, of San Diego, California, died Dec. 15, 1988, of a massive stroke. James Daniel Holly was born Sept. 30, 1924, in Giard Township, Clayton County, the son of Albert and Annie Holly. He attended Monona High School and graduated in 1942. He served in World War II and was a Staff Sergeant in the 4th Division. Survivors include two sons, Steven and Roger of San Diego; one daughter, Kathy of Rancho Cordova, California; two grandsons, Brian and Eric Morgan; one sister, Mrs. Bernell Kliefoth (Marge) of Monona; one half sister, Mrs. Art Voss (Ellen) of Monona; two brothers, Kenneth of Cedar Rapids and Louis of Monticello.
