From the Monona (IA) Leader Mrs. Albert Holly Mrs. Albert Holly died at her home near Monona on Friday, Dec. 29, 1939, after a long illness. Anna Chapek, second daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Chapek, was born April 19, 1901, on a farm in Giard Township, Clayton County, Iowa. On Sept. 19, 1918, she was united in marriage to Albert Holly. To this union, four children were born: Kenneth, James, Marjorie and Louis. Mrs. Holly was a kind wife and mother, and a friendly neighbor. She lived a life of service and her presence will be missed in the neighborhood where she had spent her lifetime. The deceased leaves to mourn her loss, besides her husband and children, one step daughter, Mrs. Art Voss, one grandchild, one sister, Mrs. John Laes of Dubuque, and a host of neighbors and friends. Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist Church, Monona, by the pastor, Rev. H.W. Farnham, and burial made in the city cemetery. Image Gallery
