JAMES M. HERRING, A FARMER, SUCCUMBED TO CEREBRAL HEMORRHAGE AND WAS WAS NOT FOUND UNTIL SEVERAL HOURS AFTER DEATH. FUNERAL HELD AT ALLENTOWN MONDAY

Mrs. John Redd, residing east of Delphos, received word of the sudden death of her brother, James M. Herring, which occurred at the home of J. M. Davis on South Elizabeth Street in Lima on Saturday. Mr. Herring was found dead in bed Saturday morning, his demise probably being due to a cerebral hemorrhage, which had apparently occurred several hours before.

Mr. Herring was 44 years old and was born in German Township. Because of ill health, he worked at this occupation as a farmer only occasionally. He is survived by 3 brothers, George, Elida; William, Spencerville; Amos, Leesburg, IN; and 3 sisters, Mrs. J. M. (Bertha) Spicer, Lima; Mrs. John (Emmaline) Redd, near Delphos; and Mrs. John (Jennie) Burget, Elida.

The deceased frequently visited at the Redd home near here and is known to many people in Delphos and vicinity. He also spent some time in Delphos and made many friends by his genial manner.

Funeral services were held at 2 0'clock Monday afternoon from the U. B. Church in Allentown, conducted by Rev. Davis, Elida. The boy was entombed in a mausoleum in Greenlawn Cemetery. Relatives from Delphos and nearby attending the services were; D. A. Whirrett, Mr. & Mrs. Ray Redd, Mr. & Mrs. James Redd, Mr. & Mrs. Marion Heidlebaugh, Mr. & Mrs. John Redd, Homer, Ernest, and Bertha Redd.
