    CUTLER1 (I.) JAMES CUTLER, of Wat., m. (1st), ANNA _____. She was buried Sept. 30, 1644, and he m. (2d), Mar. 9, 1644-5, MARY KING, wid. of Thomas King, of Wat., who d. Dec. 7, 1644 [sic, clearly a typo based on marriage date given. Death date is 7 Dec 1654 per Cutler Memorial, 3 Dec 1654 per History of Lexington, both cited below]. He m. (3d), PHEBE PAGE, dr. or John. [3.] About 1648 he moved from Wat. to Camb. Farms (Lex.), near Concord line. His Will, dated Nov. 24, 1684, then of Camb. Farms, aged 78, presented by his sons, John and Thomas, and proved Aug. 20, 1694, mentions the following chil., viz.; James, Thomas, John, John Collar, Richard Park's wife, John Parmenter's wife, Sarah Waite, Mary Johnson, Hannah Winter, Joanna Russell (wife of Phillip), Jemima, Samuel and Phebe. This list includes "two children of my wife, formerly wife of Thomas King", one of whom was Mary Johnson.

Founders of Watertown, MA

Located along the Charles River, Watertown was one of the first settlements in Massachusetts Bay Colony. After a brief stay by Roger Clapp and others who then went on to settle Dorchester. In late July 1630, Sir Richard Saltonstall led a group of about 115 households to settle at Watertown, which at the time included parts of present-day Cambridge and much of the surrounding area; the population approached Boston's in the mid 17th century. In 1632 the residents of Watertown protested against being compelled to pay a tax for the erection of a stockade fort at Cambridge; leading to the establishment of representative government in the colony.
